The application deadline is getting closer: Would you like to be part of Team Rynkeby?
If you would like to be part of Team Rynkeby next year, it will soon be your last chance to register your application. The charity cycling team's deadline for application is on 20 August 2017.
Team Rynkeby is just getting started on a new season dedicated to the good cause. The first big project will be recruiting the cyclists who will don our yellow cycling jerseys in 2018 and cycle to Paris.
Since the latest Tour de Paris, Team Rynkeby has expanded from 44 to 48 local teams, and thereby the charity cycling team now has made room for 1,900 cyclists – the highest number ever.
Team Rynkeby Foundation CEO Carl Erik Dalbøge explains:
"We're experiencing a nice uptick in interest across Scandinavia and have therefore created four new teams in those countries where the applicant increase is greatest: two in Sweden, one in Norway and one in Finland. So now it's primarily about filling the local teams with committed team players," says Carl Erik Dalbøge.
If you would like to be part of Team Rynkeby in the upcoming year, then register your application on the Team Rynkeby website by 20 August 2017 at the latest.
"The teams will be finalised locally, and here the team captains go first and foremost for applicants who show that they can contribute to the team in terms of cycling, fund-raising and socially. We are seeking to establish 48 teams of people who together will create the framework for a fantastic physical experience while raising a great deal of money for sick children," says Carl Erik Dalbøge.
Teams will be finalised in September
All applicants will receive a response to their application on 5 September 2017, and the teams will be finalised by the end of September.
"We know in advance that we won't be able to accommodate all applicants in all areas – but in some areas we can easily accommodate more participants. So if you have any interest in becoming a member of Team Rynkeby, I would like to encourage you to write an application. You do not have to commit until the first instalment is paid," says Carl Erik Dalbøge.
Team Rynkeby's trip to Paris will be held next year from 30 June to 7 July 2018.
The price for cyclists is DKK 18,500 – which includes bicycle, cycling clothes, helmets and hotels. Service volunteers pay DKK 3,600 to take part.
