12 riders have now started the tour in Finland

12 riders from Team Rynkeby Oulu have now started Team Rynkeby's 16th tour to Paris for the benefit of children with critical illnesses. The 12 riders have decided to cycle all the way from Oulu to Paris.

Team Rynkeby Oulu, which is located in the middle of Finland, will officially start its tour to Paris from Helsinki on Friday, together with the other Finnish Team Rynkeby teams.

But instead of taking the train from Oulu to Helsinki, 12 riders from Team Rynkeby Oulu have decided to cycle the 650 km to the Finnish capital city.

Therefore, the 12 riders have extended the tour to Paris with four days and therefore they started in Oulu this morning.

"When it's possible to cycle all the way to Paris, we might as well do it," said Ville Wallenius, Team Manager at Team Rynkeby Oulu.

"It's been really good the first kilometers. We had a very good departure, the weather is good and the spirit is high. It's going to be a great tour to Paris this year, he continues.

The 12 riders were accompanied out of the city by the rest of the team this morning. Furthermore, a couple of former Team Rynkeby Helsinki riders will follow the 12 riders all the way to Helsinki.

Team Rynkeby Helsinki, Espoo, Turku, Tampere, Jyväskylä and Oulu will start together in Helsinki on Friday between 12:00 and 13:30 local time.
