20,000 people are following Team Rynkeby live on the web

Team Rynkeby is enjoying great success with live streaming and live tracking this year's Tour de Paris. More than 20,000 visitors are following the Tour de Paris each day on the Team Rynkeby website.

Stage 3, Bramsche: 1,500 riders and 400 helpers from five countries are on their way to Paris with Team Rynkeby.

The charity cycling team, which raises money for children with cancer, is using new methods this year to make it easier for participants' families, sponsors and other interested people to follow the 2016 Tour de Paris.

In cooperation with Rynkeby Foods, Xtreme, Ørslev, Bianchi, RedKnows and Best Broadcast Hire, Team Rynkeby has created a platform on its website where visitors can watch live video from the field and follow the movements of all 38 Team Rynkeby teams through Europe on a map.

And the live platform has become an enormous success. Over 20,000 visitors have visited the site on each of the first three days of the Tour de Paris.

"It's really quite impressive. "Naturally, the participants' friends and family have a huge interest in seeing the teams' progress and the distance achieved. "But I am still surprised at how much traffic we are getting on the site. "The overall site traffic is more than 50 percent higher than it was last year, and one of the reasons is this initiative," says Carl Erik Dalbøge, director of Team Rynkeby Foundation.

Closer to the event
According to Dalbøge, the live platform allows visitors to get closer to the project.

"It's not as if people are sitting glued to their monitors following each stage from morning to evening. But the live images from the field make it possible to see the weather, the terrain, and to get a sense of the Team Rynkeby spirit," continues Dalbøge, who himself is seated on a bike heading to Paris with Team Rynkeby Ringe.

This year marks the 15th time that Team Rynkeby is riding to Paris to benefit children with cancer. The Tour de Paris 2016 will conclude this Saturday in the French capital.
