New Country Manager of Team Rynkeby Denmark

Previous team captain to be at the head of developing Team Rynkeby in Denmark.

The 49-year-old Jesper Bjerg, previous Team Manager of Team Rynkeby, will be at the head of Team Rynkeby’s acitivites in Denmark.

On August 1st, 2020, Jesper Bjerg will become the new Danish Country Manager of Team Rynkeby.

In this position, Jesper Bjerg will be in charge of ensuring the continued development of the collection and exercise activities of the European charity cycling team in Denmark.

- Team Rynkeby is close to my heart. I have been part of this fine project as a volunteer for six years and can see the difference it is making – primarily for the Children’s Cancer Foundation and the Children’s Lung Foundation. But also for the families to whom the organisations are providing vital support and for the participants who are developing on a personal level and building close friendships for life. I am looking forward to continuing this project alongside the thousands of volunteers, says Jesper Bjerg, who used to be team captain of Team Rynkeby Øresund for three consecutive seasons (2016 – 2019).

Strengthen cooperation
Team Rynkeby’s Danish charity organisation consists of 19 local cycling teams, counting over 1,100 cyclists and service people. One of Jesper Bjerg’s first jobs is to ensure a closer cooperation between the local teams – e.g. to create new collection opportunities.

- There is so much positive dedication out there in the individual teams – and ideas that deserve to be brought to the attention of a wider audience. One of our biggest collection and exercise successes is the Team Rynkeby School Run, which started out as a local initiative but later developed into something much bigger when we joined forces across all our teams. We must become better at sharing best practice and helping each other across the teams. That will be one of my most important jobs from the start, says Jesper Bjerg.

Solid management experience
In his future capacity as new Country Manager in Denmark, Jesper Bjerg will formally replace the CEO of Team Rynkeby Foundation, Carl Erik Dalbøge, who is currently functioning as both CEO and Danish Country Manager. In future as CEO of Team Rynkeby Foundation, Carl Erik Dalbøge will focus on the overall, general assignments and on developing Team Rynkeby Foundation internationally – in close cooperation with the Board of Team Rynkeby Foundation , Eckes-Granini and the other country managers of the project.

Carl Erik Dalbøge is looking forward to working closely with Jesper Bjerg.

- Jesper joined the organisation equipped with solid management experience from a complex organisation; he has extensive financial knowhow and great insight into Team Rynkeby thanks to his different positions as team captain, steering committee member, sponsorship leader. On top of that, he is very much dedicated to the project and to the fact that we are dealing with voluntary resource persons whose smiles and enthusiasm are the basic ingredients of success. I am certain that Jesper Bjerg will be able to contribute to taking Team Rynkeby to the next level, says Carl Erik Dalbøge.

Jesper Bjerg is married to Dorthe and lives in the small town of Lime between Randers and Aarhus. They have two daughters, Mette of 23 and Helle of 25.

Team Rynkeby consists of 2,100 cyclists and 550 service staff distributed across 57 teams from eight countries. The team should have cycled to Paris in early July but the tour was cancelled this year due to the corona situation in Europe.
