Tobias dresses up like Santa to celebrate Christmas with 14 families to benefit children with cancer

Tobias Guldstrand will celebrate Christmas together with 14 different families wearing a Santa costume. He does it to raise money for children with cancer.

Tobias Guldstrand doesn’t yet know exactly where he will be celebrating Christmas.

Last night, the auction he ran throughout December came to an end, in which families could bid on getting the 29-year-old Team Rynkeby – God Morgon Sjuhärad cyclist out to their homes to play Santa Claus on 24 December.

In total, Tobias Guldstrand offered 14 sessions with himself as Santa Claus, and the families who made the highest bids can now look forward to having 30 minutes in the company of the popular Team Rynkeby – God Morgon-Santa Claus.

All the money from the auction goes to Team Rynkeby – God Morgon Sjuhärad’s fundraising for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

“I’m now planning my 14 visits. And even though all the visits are in Borås and the surrounding area, I still have to plan wisely if I’m going to make all the visits in time,” laughs Tobias Guldstrand, who will pull on his Santa costume at 8 AM on Christmas Eve and expects to be home with his own family at the end of the evening.

“Several have asked me if I don’t think it’s weird not to spend Christmas together with my own family. But I don’t see it like that. Rather, I see it as a way of being able to celebrate Christmas together with 14 families and to help make some children happy – while I also raise some money for children with cancer. And I will come home at some point that evening, so I’ll be celebrating Christmas with my own family too,” says Tobias Guldstrand.

In addition to his efforts on 24 December, Tobias Guldstrand has also played Santa Claus at a number of various charity events in the past month. And when all is said and done, his work as Santa Claus will result in a donation of no less than SEK 131.351 for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Played Santa Claus last year too
And it’s actually not the first time that Tobias Guldstrand is spending his Christmas Eve playing Santa Claus for the benefit of children with cancer. He also did it last year, when he succeeded in raising SEK 82,500 for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

“It was great fun last year and the response has been nothing but positive. It’s really a wonderful day filled with joy, expectation and a lot of love,” he says.
