What it costs to participate on Team Rynkeby in 2017
Team Rynkeby Foundation has now set the prices for participating as a rider and service person in 2017. See the prices here.
The cost of participating on Team Rynkeby 2017 is identical to that of 2016, according to Team Rynkeby Foundation. The foundation’s agreements with bicycle, clothing and hotel vendors are now in place for the upcoming year.
The cost of participating on Team Rynkeby in 2017 is €2,457 EUR. This amount covers the carbon fibre bicycle, cycling clothes, helmet and seven overnight stays at three-star or better hotels on the journey to Paris.
If participants already have a Team Rynkeby racer from previous years, the price of participation is €1,031 EUR, while service persons pay €510 EUR to be part of the team.
“Yes, it is a lot of money, but the participants are also getting a very high quality product. The bicycle alone carries a retail price of approximately €2,150 EUR, but of course our participants do not pay that amount,” explains Carl Erik Dalbøge, director of Team Rynkeby Foundation.
Paid over three instalments
Rider costs are paid over three instalments. The first instalment, including the bicycle, must be paid as of 1 October 2016, while the clothing package must be paid by 1 December 2016. The third and last instalment, which covers the hotel package, is to be paid by 1 March 2017 at the latest. This date is also when service persons must pay their participation costs.
"In addition to the participant costs, we advise future participants that they should expect additional expenses amounting to between €400 and €700 EUR associated with extra bicycle equipment, training, additional hotel stays, ferry transportation, etc.," says Carl Erik Dalbøge.
All participants in all countries are asked to calculate participant costs in Danish crowns – the only exception is the Finnish participants, who calculate costs in Euro.
