World Tour team clothing put on standby by Team Rynkeby
Clothing for some of the world's best cyclists had to wait in line while Team Rynkeby Bornholm's jerseys went into production in Italy.
In a small workshop near Castelfranco in northern Italy, they are working hard to produce the majority of the nearly 20,000 items of clothing ordered by charity cycling team Team Rynkeby through its supplier, Xtreme.
The clothes must be ready for delivery by 1 April at the latest so that the 1,750 charity riders can wear the distinctive yellow colours when outdoor training gets under way.
So it was with great satisfaction last week that Xtreme visited the Italian sewing factory to see for themselves that work is proceeding on schedule.
"We are dealing with a supplier that has worked for us for many years, and they know exactly what is needed to ensure that the large amounts of clothing are ready for participants at the agreed time. "It is very satisfying to see that we are on schedule," says Peter Konggaard, CEO and owner of Xtreme.
In front of the World Tour team
While Xtreme was visiting the sewing factory in Italy, Team Rynkeby Bornholm jerseys were going into production – just ahead of the jerseys for the French World Tour team Ag2r-La Mondiale.
"We know that they are skilled at sewing, but of course it is a recognition of their work that they also supply clothing for World Tour teams," says Peter Konggaard and continues:
"So it's kind of amusing that World Tour riders must wait politely for their clothes while charity riders from Team Rynkeby Bornholm are having their jerseys finished," he smiles.
If you would like to buy Team Rynkeby official cycling clothing, you can order it through the Team Rynkeby web shop. The clothes must be ordered by 15 April 2017 at the latest and will be delivered in weeks 25-26 (19 June - 2 July).
